What are the Gene Keys?
The Gene Keys are a system of practical wisdom, created by Richard Rudd, based on the synthesis of various disciplines that provides a path for self-discovery and personal transformation.
The system uses your birth date, time, and place to create a personalized map called a “Hologenetic Profile” that corresponds to different areas of life. In each “stop” on your map you’ll get a gene key that has three levels; a shadow (or victim pattern), a gift (a special gift), and a siddhi (a divine expression). Through contemplation, individuals are guided to understand their strengths and limitations to unlock their higher purpose and inner potential.
Like an old growth tree trunk there are layers to these teachings that grow wider over time. And there are many different depths that a person can take in their exploration of their gene keys. You can start with just your free profile, which has four short personalized blurbs about your prime gifts. You could also just be with the one chapter of your life’s work for your only exploration. There are also books that outline the three different sequences. All this and the books really only account for about 25% of what’s available, but for some that is plenty. For those that have been affected by the material they’ve encounter, who want to drop in deeper, and that’s were the Sequences come into play. Either personal study, or online global retreat (my personal favorite) have so much more enriching content, gatherings, and resources to expand your contemplation.

What is the Golden Path? It starts with ‘Awakening your Genius’ in the Activation Sequence. Then moves to ‘Unlock love in your Relationships’ with the Venus Sequence. The Golden Path culminates in the Pearl Sequence where you're invited to ‘Unlock your Prosperity’ or how you best work in the world, serving the whole with your unique gifts.

The second of the three sequences. The Activation Retreat prepares you to take the next, even deeper step into the Venus Retreat.
In this retreat you will contemplate different developmental periods of your life and contemplate what different shadow beliefs, patterns, or behaviors have most impacted you in your relationships.
This Venus retreat offers a tender wound map and gives practices for how to open your heart back up, as well as methods of connecting with your partner with deeper intimacy and authenticity.

In 2018, a group of friends and I were introduced to a system called Human Design. In it I learned about my ‘energy type’ and some key notes of how I best operate. It was a revelation! I felt so seen and empowered.
Then one day my partner and I were in Powell’s, a local bookstore looking for more resources on Human Design, and he stumbled upon a big blue book called “The Gene Keys”. He explained that it was in the same vein as Human Design, that in fact the writer of this book worked directly with the creator of Human Design.
I was a bit put off by the size of the book and that it didn’t account for “energy types” like Human Design did. For me, learning that I was a Reflector was a major epiphany.
As I got into the reading of my Life’s Work gene key it set off a curiosity in me about how the gift sounded a lot like what it felt like to be a Reflector. Because I am a 1/3 profile, once I started I didn’t want to stop. I went through each sequence in a global online retreat, often led by Richard Rudd himself, and the realizations I was making and the healing that was taking place in my relationships and body were altogether transformative.
Eventually I let go of many the ways that I was reinforcing my victim patterns through the work I was choosing and the subtle ways I was exhausting myself in relationships. I learned the process was more of a coming home to my own self-love in a more profound way than I had ever experienced.
What I wanted for my life was somehow, magically, in my own gene keys.
Because the Gene Keys have had such a profound affect on my life I decided to pursue their Guides Program so that I could use it in my work as a somatic therapist, and also so I could give back to this wonderful system and help connect more people into it’s transmission.

In the Gene Keys way, we call these Profile Processing sessions, not readings. Because only you can truly know what your inner world and experience of life is, when we explore your profile it is more of a time for you to go deeper into your experience of a particular gift and how you already know and experience it in your life. It’s not a system where we tell you your fortune and who you are. Your profile is a mirror for you to look into yourself for how those archetypal themes show up for you. Receiving guide support helps with the digestion of concepts, resources for moving through pain or tricky spots, help navigating next steps, and a trusted companion for your process.
